Hello There!
You may be wondering whose collection this even is. You may be wondering who created this site. Weelll....That would be me ^-^.
My name's Mizu, a.k.a. the girl who's hopelessly obsessed with Rikkai XD. I've been a Prince of Tennis (or Tenipuri) lover since it first started in Japan, back in 1999. At first I was like, "A manga about boys playing tennis? Sounds...uh...interesting?" It helped that I play tennis too - it piqued my interest, so I gave it a shot...and I liked it. I kept on reading until they got to the Rikkai part (during the Kanto finals), which was when I just absolutely fell in love with Tenipuri. Or should I say I fell in love with Rikkai...? *cough* Er, yeah.
I've been asked several times why Rikkai's my favorite team. Now, if I really wanted to list everything I love about them, I'm afraid I wouldn't have room - so I'll have to present the condensed version o_<. I'll start off with the really obvious reason - my favorite characters in the series are in Rikkai. In fact, here's my top five:
1. Niou Masaharu
2. Yukimura Seiichi
3. Marui Bunta
4. Yagyu Hiroshi
5. Kirihara Akaya
...All Rikkai :P. So it makes sense that they're my favorite team as a whole. Complementing that, it turns out that the three guys I've just completely fallen for are the top three in my rankings (in that order). Another reason is their strength and skill. As the Kings, they're essentially at the top - they're respected, and feared. I'm not nearly as good as they are in tennis (duh), so I can't help but admire them. I believe the main reason I was so attracted to them at first (and still am) is the fact that the team, as a whole, reminds me of myself. I am a very prideful individual, and put in great care and time in everything that I do. While I can be quite friendly, I'm very serious when it's time to get down to business. I've been described as "selectively social" - I'm very social when among my friends, but I'm very introverted among others (and it takes a while to get me to open up). I (admittedly) hate to lose, and have very high ambitions. And I excel in my studies similar to how Rikkai excels in tennis.Simply put, I see myself in them.
I obtained my first Rikkai merchandise about four years ago (2006) - some TCG cards from a booster pack I bought in Taiwan. I treasured those cards, and decided to actively collect Rikkai stuff about mid-2010. This is where living in Florida (or middle-of-nowhere New York during the school year) AND not having a stable source of income really bites, as 1) I have to get all of my stuff online, and often from Japan (using deputy services) and 2) I, er, have no stable source of income. As such, my collection's growth is relatively slow - but! I'm doing the best I can ^-^.
It's been nice meeting you, and I hope you have a pleasant stay~
